Hi!
Welcome, and thanks for taking the time to visit my website.
I’m Michiel Bader, born in Tilburg (Netherlands) and always drawn to water and nature. What began with aquariums at home eventually led me to a Bachelor in Forest and Nature Conservation at Wageningen University, where I discovered my fascination for nature governance and the many ways how
people interpret ‘nature’.
During my Master in Aquaculture and Marine Resource Management, I focused on marine governance. I became especially interested in the relationship between society and marine ecosystems — from coral reefs and marine protected areas to the dynamics between different stakeholders.
I currently work as Policy Advisor Wadden for the Province of Groningen. My work ranges from developing Wadden Sea policy to collaborating with stakeholders and contributing to projects that strengthen the coastline and its ecosystems. One day a week, I join the National Water Traineeship, where I explore the water sector and continue developing my professional skills.
Outside of work, I enjoy creative projects like playing guitar, writing music and making videos. This website brings together my professional journey and my creative side in one place.
Thanks for visiting, feel free to look around and reach out via the contact page.
Michiel
